On 15th of February 2020, Adivasi/Tribal student community of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai took a decision to restructure their student body and come up with its constitution. Drafting Committee was formed to create the first draft. They have presented the first draft in the General Council which will eventually get passed once the college reopens. There are six members in the Committee.
Lakra, Joy Prafful belongs to ‘Kurukh’ tribal community. He has completed M.A. Social Work with specialization in Dalit and tribal Social Work, and doctorate from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. His research interests are Adivasis, Tribes, Indigenous People, Tea Plantations, Natural Resources, Autonomy, Self Governance, Migration, Decolonizing Methodology, Development and Displacement. Kanchan Thomasina ekka is Mphil in social science from tiss Mumbai and currently PhD scholar in tiss. She has worked in Pradan as project executive in raigarh district of Chhatisgarh. Her interest areas lies in Gender and Livelihood, Tribal/ adivasi women and issues, tribal adivasi studies and epistemology, tribal movements and Indigenous Feminism . She has contributed Articles in book chapters and journals.
An Adivasi girl hailing from Gumla District of Jharkhand, was born brought up in Jamshedpur. She belongs to the Munda community and is currently pursuing her M.A. degree with specialization in Dalit and Tribal Studies.
Her interest is in acquiring new skills and prefers expressing herself through writing and her artwork.
Caring two bloodlines in her veins, she is a Dalit-Adivasi. Though she believes she will build her own identity. Currently pursuing her M.A. degree in Social Work with specialization in Dalit and Tribal Studies and Action.

If she is not in the library or class, you can easily find her in DM canteen or out there staring and appreciating trees & plants. Dogs are her first love. Food is the closest second.
